Ranger Task Force
Thank you for visiting the information center of the Pokemon Ranger Task Force! If you are a new trainer, or even a seasoned trainer just coming to the lovely shores of Bohren, please take the time to look over this information and make sure you are in full compliance with the law.
The RTF is a division of the Pokemon Rangers dedicated to pokemon rights and welfare. We work tirelessly to make certain that all pokemon, of all 495 known species, have comfortable and happy lives both in the wild and with their trainers. The RTF investigates claims of abuse, trafficking, poaching and other crimes against pokemon.
1. Trainer Licenses
All trainers who wish to carry more than one pokemon on their person at a time in public must be registered with the Pokemon League and receive a license. Trainers caught battling without a license may be arrested or fined, and their pokemon may be re-homed. A trainer's license may be suspended or revoked if they are found guilty of abuse, trafficking, poaching or breaking the move restriction rules of pokemon tournaments. In the event that a trainer's license is revoked for crimes against pokemon, their pokemon may be released or re-homed.
2. Breeder Licenses
All breeders who wish to engage in breeding services for profit or trade must be registered with the Pokemon League and receive a license. Breeders caught trading or selling pokemon without a license may be arrested or fined, and their pokemon may be re-homed. Allegations of improper facilities or abuse will be taken very seriously. Allegations of black-market breeding of endangered pokemon will be investigated immediately and, if claims are found true, the breeder's license will be immediately revoked and they will be arrested.
3. Endangered Pokemon
The following pokemon are considered endangered and protected by the RTF for reasons of frequent poaching or trafficking. All trainers who capture an endangered pokemon are required to register it with the League so the League can track its movements. Registered pokemon may only be released with prior notification to the RTF. Endangered pokemon bred with commercial breeders must be registered at the time of hatching. The following is a list of endangered or protected pokemon:
- Vulpix/Ninetales
- Farfetch'd
- Kangaskhan
- Lapras
- Eevee (and all evolutions)
- Dratini/Dragonair/Dragonite
- Larvitar/Pupitar/Tyranitar
- Wailord
- Vibrava/Flygon
- Milotic
- Clamperl/Huntail/Gorebyss
- Bagon/Shelgon/Salamence
- Gible/Gabite/Garchomp
- Porygon (all forms)
4. Joining the RTF
Ranger Task Force hopefuls must first pass a background check, and their pokemon will be subject to inspection by a pokemon center nurse to ensure they are happy, healthy and otherwise unharmed. Members of the RTF must have valid trainers licenses, must have a clean arrest record, and must not have had their license suspended more than twice. Agents will then be assigned tasks ranging anywhere from uncovering the insidious efforts of Team Rocket to protecting the annual Milotic and Gyarados migrations to investigating claims of crimes against pokemon. Many RTF agents have a partner, but some operate alone. The RTF maintains a presence at every tournament in the region and agents may be required at any time to enter in order to oversee the tournament from within.
Thank you for your interest! The RTF hopes that your pokemon are happy, healthy and strong!
