Official Bohren Tournament Rules
Bohren is an area which is renowned for its Tournament circuit. The Bohren Pokemon League has worked hard to make sure that these Tournaments are fair and run smoothly as possible. We hope that you will participate in our wonderful tournament circuit, as there is always one on its way across our great region.
To make sure things are fair, The League has set up a standard set of rules that are to be used at all tournaments. Although each tournament may have its own specific set of rules, these are standard to every tournament.
Bohren Pokemon League Standard Tournament rules:
1. All Pokemon sets must be submitted and approved for all contestants before the tournament begins. All teams must follow the current Tournament rules (aka lvl, number, type, evolutionary stage, etc.) Here is a good example of how your sets should be submitted.
Charizard - Adamant Nature
Item: Leftovers
Moves:
-Belly Drum
-Fire Punch
-Endure
-Thunderpunch
Ev's:
Atk: 252
Spe: 252
Def: 4
2. If a move is banned, it is banned. It may not be used. If you are caught using a move that is banned, you will be automatically DQ'd from the tournament, and your character will be placed on probation, which will prevent them from entering the next two League Sponsored Tournaments. If your character is caught using an illegal move again, they will be banned from the League and their trainer card will be removed. It is possible for a character to regain their trainer card, but it's incredibly difficult and requires a full review by the board of League officials (the Elite Four and the gym leaders).
Always Banned Moves:
-Double Team
-Minimize
-Fissure
-Guillotine
-Horn Drill
-Sheer Cold
3. Your character must meet the required standards to enter the tournament. If the rules specify that your character needs 4 badges to enter, you need 4 badges, no exceptions.
4. Please keep logs of all your battles in Tournament. If you are playing over DS, please keep a basic log of what happens. Example:
Logan: Charmander used Ember
Susan: Squirtle used Water Gun
Logan's Charmander Fainted.
Logan sent out Pikachu.
Logan: Pikachu used Thunder
Susan's Squirtle Fainted
Logan Wins!
Shoddy does a very good job of keep track of all components of a battle, including HP% and items and such. Here is a link of how to do a battle log based on a battle between two of your very own Bohren Gym Leaders!
5. Items other than those being held are banned from play. Although Shoddy and DS battling takes these out of play, you cannot use them in RP battle.
6. Any pokemon that is banned for your character to have is also banned in tournament battle. This means no legendaries!
7. If a pokemon uses Self Destruct or Explode, and this move ends the match, then the trainer who used Self Destruct or Explode automatically forfeits the battle.
8. Ev's are only allowed if your opponent agrees to use them as well. If they say they do not want to use EV's, then you will not use EV's. The same applies for raising lvl caps to 100, if the other player agrees, then you may raise the cap. If they do not, you will keep the cap at 50.
