Pokemon Journals

After a few discussion, the mods have decided to allow players to create journals for their characters Pokemon. This game mechanic will now allow characters Pokemon to interact with each other like characters interact through logs. Not only can you build new relationships between trainer and Pokemon but you can now build them between Pokemon and Pokemon. All Pokemon Journal posts will be made in Log form, as most Pokemon do not have thumbs and are not able to operate a Pokegear.

This is not mandatory but consider it an additional level of interaction to the game. It is recommended that your characters have some way for their Pokemon to interact with each other for various plot throughout the game in which they will be away from their trainers.

Here are a few options that current players have choose to peruse this:

1) One journal for one Pokemon

The basic idea, a journal used for a single Pokemon on a characters team. This allows us to utilize both posting changes as well as 15 icons for each Pokemon, if you so choose. Here is an example: [personal profile] shessolovely

2) Team based journals

Another option for people that don't want multiple journals on the loose for their players teams. Better options for people with larger teams. Example: [personal profile] teamshadow

3) Single journal for both character and their Pokemon

Players can choose to just use their basic character journal for Pokemon interaction. If say a character's Pidgey wanted to join in a log with a character's Pikachu who happened to be out roaming around a Pokemon Center, one would simply use an Icon to tell the difference between trainer and Pokemon (this can either be done via HTML icons or the basic 15 icon spread), and simply tag as in character as that Pokemon. Simply done.

The basics of this that Pokemon can now interact with each other. Logs can be made between Pokemon themselves, all Pokemon talk is considered in pokespeak so italics and that sort of things are not needed. Only characters, such as Yellow, can understand Pokemon.

During battles you do not need to use your pokemon's journals for tags unless you want to use a certain icon or that sort of thing, we dont want battle logs to get longer than they are.

We hope you enjoy this new mechanic and if you have any questions, please check the FAQ section or contact the mods.
